Willows are very adaptable plants. They love water so make sure to plant it in a moist area and/or provide water and mulch around the trunk. Do not plant willow close to water pipes, sewer lines or septic systems as it’s roots can travel into structures carrying water. Prune out old or dead wood, open up the center to sun. Willows can grow 2 or more feet per year.
