Red Shiso, also known as Purple Perilla, Beefstake Plant, Japanese Basil, is a versatile Asian culinary herb and has been used for dyeing and as medicine for many years.  Distinct cinnamon/clove flavor and aroma, with the spiciness of cumin. Used in Asian cooking, sushi and salad mix. Red shiso adds brilliant color to radish pickles and umeboshi plums.
