White Wood Aster is one of the first Asters to bloom. The bright white flowers with yellow disc centers appear in late summer to brighten the late season shade garden. Plant it with early blooming woodland flowers for season-long interest. Asters are particularly beneficial to late season pollinators when so many other flowers have finished blooming. The seeds are consumed by winter songbirds.
